Daetwyler offers a variety of doctor blades for the flexo printing industry, including the Flexolife blade. Doctor blades are available in steel and non-metallic. All are made using the high level of quality you've come to expect from Daetwyler.

Decolife Blade

The Decolife coated doctor blade, mainly used for very abrasive printing and coating applications, is very gentle to anilox rollers, resulting in longer roller life.

Duralife Blade

The Duralife coated doctor blade provides longer anilox and blade life without sacrificing printing quality, maintains sharp and clean wipe, reduces score lines, and is perfect for use with pearlescent and highly abrasive inks.

Longlife Blade

The Longlife doctor blade extends blade life and reduces press downtime. This blade is coated with a material resistant to damages caused by aggressive ink pigments and corrosion. When these doctor blades are used with regular inks--solvent or water-based--the blade life is significantly longer than regular doctor blades.

Soft Blade

The Soft blade is ideal for printing high pH inks. A durable nickel-based coated tip protects the blade against corrosion. This blade significantly reduces score lines in flexo applications.

Standard Blade

Maintaining tip thickness keeps tone values constant through a production run. Unlike beveled doctor blades, this blade has a consistent tip thickness to keep the contact area unchanged as the blade wears. The consistent tip also requires fewer blade changes and no expensive doctor blade grinding.

Stainless Blade

The Stainless steel blade works well for water-based applications. It includes all the benefits of the MDC doctor blades in a corrosion-resistant blade.

Multiblade

Constructed of carbon steel, the 2-degree-bevel design of this new blade results in a stiffer blade edge, allowing for a sharper wipe and eliminating start-up streaks. Due to the slow increase in tip thickness proportionally to the 2-degree angle, these blades allow for a clean wipe on long runs. The Multiblade is suitable for gravure publication, gravure packaging and flexo printing applications.

One Step Blade

The One Step blade has additional blade thickness included for extra strength. The one piece construction of this blade eliminates the need for a backup blade. This permits straight mounting without deviation

Bevel Blade

The configuration of the blade edge adds to the stability of the blade tip with minimum wear and the sharp blade edge allows for a clean wipe. Due to the stiffer tip, these blades are more resistant to tip breakage. Bevel blades with angles between 4-degree to 15-degree are used for short runs only and are commonly used when printing process colors

Flexolife Blade

A double radius doctor blade designed especially for flexo printing. The Flexolife offers exceptionally smooth edges for faster run-in on press. This economical blade provides extended blade life while reducing anilox wear and can be used with solvent or water-based inks.

Punched

Max Daetwyler Corporation can punch any size hole you need for your presses with precision accuracy.

As an added bonus, when you purchase your punched blades from MDC you can now have the type of blade tip you want for any printing application. Choose from steel straight edge, lamella tip, bevel tip, coated blades or double radius edge.

MDC Doctor Blades are manufactured from the finest steel with tight tolerances to deliver the exact size punched blade made to the customer's specific dimensions. After the first initial order, the lead-time for punched blades is the same as when ordering regular doctor blades.

We have punched blades for Label and Newspaper presses, Pad and Tape printing and Coating machines.
